Experience
- Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in adult and children’s palliative care, having worked across acute, community and Hospice settings.
- Has significant experience of service review and project management in both adults and children’s palliative care.
- HSSIB trained in investigations, and can support with all aspects of organisational response to the PSIRF agenda.
Recent work
- Led on rolling out the ReSPECT process for an ICB with a large and complex geography
- Review and restructure of all clinical services for a children’s hospice, enabling greater community outreach
- Working with a national charity to deliver a rolling programme of events for professionals and patients to share learning and experiences
- Restructure of community palliative care services to improve patient outcomes
Training
Regularly teaches to all levels of learner from health and social care students, pre and post registration nurses, to NMP students and medical staff.
Teaching can be delivered in person or online, and can be bespoke to your organisational needs.
Support
Regularly acts as supervisor and assessor to student nurses, paramedics and NMPs. Feedback from students has emphasised her broad knowledge within the palliative care arena and very approachable style.
Safeguarding
An experienced safeguarding practitioner, level 4 qualified in both adults and children’s safeguarding, has led safeguarding in adult and children’s Hospices. Can deliver:
- Safeguarding training up to and including level 3
- Supporting organisations to review their training, policies, and procedures
- Support with casework and supervision.

Worked with organisations, including acute trusts, primary care, Hospices and ICBs, to review and update their policy and procedure architecture, with sound knowledge of all areas of the clinical governance agenda. She has written:
